The Curaidh Clinic Story: Setting Up a Niche Practice
Invited by the Independent Doctors Federation, Dr Minha shared how she built Curaidh Clinic – a niche practice for a specialty that barely existed.
How do you build a clinic for a specialty that does not formally exist yet? Dr Minha was invited by the Independent Doctors Federation (IDRF) to answer exactly that, presenting “The Curaidh Clinic Story: Setting Up a Niche Practice” at the Federation’s Private Practice Blueprint conference in London on 19 March 2026. The IDRF is the UK’s leading membership organisation for independent doctors, founded in 1989 and today representing well over a thousand members across dozens of specialties, which made it precisely the right room for a story about building something genuinely new.
Her answer began with a simple idea: innovation starts with need. A decade ago few people knew they wanted an iPhone; patients living with unexplained symptoms, persistent pain and fatigue, by contrast, have always known they needed somewhere like Curaidh, a practice built on patient choice and collaborative care, bridging conventional medicine with evidence-informed integrative approaches. What she had done, in effect, was to give a shape and a home to a kind of care many patients had been seeking for years.
She is pictured presenting, and with her fellow speakers at the close of the meeting, invited by the “good and the great” of independent practice to help the next generation of doctors build well. For a clinician who has spent much of her career being first at things, it was a rare and welcome chance to turn hard-won experience into a blueprint others could follow.
That is, in the end, what Curaidh Clinic represents: proof that patient-first, integrative medicine is not only possible but sustainable, a real practice, carefully built, meeting a real and long-unmet need.
